Recently was the 20 year anniversary of the release of windows 95.
At the time, windows 95 was the future, everyone wanted it, demand was ridiculous. They ended up selling 7 million copies in 5 weeks, something that was unprecedented for the time. Now, 20 years later, microsoft has blown itself out of the water with an astounding 75 million computers running windows 10 in only 4 weeks. Of course, every computer running windows 8 was upgraded for free, so this could be a large factor. There have also been many complaints surrounding windows 10, but of course you could expect that from a new operating system. Do you think this number really reflects microsoft’s success, or is it just a byproduct of the lack of cost of Windows 10?
