The Third Thumb Project is the brainchild of London’s Royal College of Art graduate student Daniel Clode. This is a new take on the prosthetic, instead of fixing or replacing it is adding and enhancing. Right now you control the third thumb using a pressure sensor that sits in your shoe. Push your foot down, the thumb grasps, let off pressure and the thumb does the same. How many things in your life would be simplified with an extra thumb to do the heavy lifting?
